The WCS Board of Trustees, which oversees the school, is made up of elected individuals who have demonstrated a strong commitment to WCS. The primary focus of the Board is to provide the stability and resources necessary for the school to effectively fulfill its mission over time. The Board also nominates new board members to serve the school and oversees and evaluates the work of the Headmaster.
The work of the Board is primarily accomplished through various committees, which report to the full board on a regular basis. The Board meets monthly to receive reports and to make decisions on Board-level issues. Board members regularly contribute their time, talents, and other resources to advance the mission of WCS.

What is the process to join the Board?
Board members are elected (for three-year terms) from among the official WCS Corporate Membership roll. (See below for more information about becoming a Corporate Member of WCS.)
Interested individuals are welcome to inquire about serving on the Board. Annually, the process of board-member recruitment begins in the fall and includes a written application, an interview with the Executive Committee, recommendation by the full board, and ultimately a vote of affirmation by the WCS Corporate Membership in the spring.
The Board is always seeking for candidates who have a demonstrated commitment to the long-term success of WCS, who possess strategic governance skills and abilities, who are fully committed to the WCS Mission and Statement of Faith, and who are active in a local church which agrees with the WCS Statement of Faith.
WCS Corporate Membership
The WCS Bylaws require that the Board of Trustees maintain a current membership roster of individuals who are interested in the mission of the school, who are 18 years of age or older, and who subscribe to a credible profession of faith in Christ. If you are interested in becoming a Corporate Member, learn more by downloading and completing the WCS Membership Application.
