WCS Blog

Never to early to celebrate.

5/30/2024

Picture
As the school year quickly draws to a close, we move into a season of celebrations. We will soon celebrate our Class of 2024 graduates, rejoicing as they head out to what God has next for their lives. We will also celebrate the milestones reached by our Early Learning Center students as they move on to kindergarten.

We will celebrate our kindergartners, fifth graders, and eighth graders as they move on to the next school division. Our students (and their teachers!) will celebrate the arrival of summer. The entire WCS community will celebrate another successful and impactful school year, the 78th in our history!
We began the school year looking at our theme, Courage: Faith Over Fear. Since last summer, the world has not become any less fearful of a place. But our God has not lost one bit of his power or sovereignty.  He continues to reign supreme and His Kingdom continues to stand. The power of His Word continues to be modeled and taught inside and outside the walls of WCS.

While we get to see small glimpses of the fruit of our investment in Christian Education every day, the true harvest will not be realized until eternity.  As we look at our students, we see them learning God’s truth in all subjects. We see them accomplish great things in the classroom, on the stage, in athletics, and in their relationships. We see them overcoming challenges and hard times. We see the joy on their faces as they worship. We hear the laughter in the lunchroom and feel the energy on the playground.

What we don’t always get to see are the life changes that will continue decades into the future as these young hearts and minds become the impactful men and women that God has designed for each of them to be. Joining the heroes of history, our students are becoming the best and brightest people of influence in every field on the planet...
  • Architects and tradesmen like Noah
  • Entrepreneurs like Abraham
  • Project managers like Joseph and Nehemiah
  • Agricultural laborers like Ruth
  • Artists and musicians like David and Bezalel
  • Soldiers and warriors like David and Joshua
  • Researchers and philosophers like Solomon
  • Political activists like Esther
  • Politicians . . . even in (and especially in) corrupt governments like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, and Nehemiah
  • Food distribution experts and community organizers like Steven
  • Successful businesswomen like Lydia
  • Godly mothers like Hannah, Mary, Lois, and Eunice
  • Godly fathers like Job and Joseph
  • Godly mentors to those without godly fathers, like Paul and Barnabas
  • And preachers and missionaries like Peter and Paul
So we celebrate both the achievements and milestones that we can see right now and the future accomplishments promised by God for those who are faithful and obedient to His call.

Now that’s a great way to finish!
 Educating for Eternity,
Jonathan Nazigian
WCS Headmaster
