Tuition Assistance
Mission Statement
Wilmington Christian School endeavors to provide need-based financial aid (tuition assistance) to help fill the gap between the cost of tuition and the family’s ability to pay. Our desire to provide tuition assistance is part of our commitment to develop a school community that reflects the socioeconomic diversity of our region.
Policy
While the availability of tuition assistance funds and the number of qualified applicants influence tuition assistance decisions, Wilmington Christian School is committed to making grants available in the most equitable manner possible. As such, WCS considers the following when making award decisions:
Process
Wilmington Christian School uses an online system called Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST), powered by Independent School Management (ISM), to evaluate an applicant family’s need for financial assistance.
You can upload your tax information directly into your application. If you are filling out the FAST form prior to the completion of your 2023 tax forms, you may upload them at a later date.

Policy
While the availability of tuition assistance funds and the number of qualified applicants influence tuition assistance decisions, Wilmington Christian School is committed to making grants available in the most equitable manner possible. As such, WCS considers the following when making award decisions:
- Current students must not be in arrears for any obligations to WCS.
- Due to the unique teacher/student ratios that must be maintained in our Early Learning Center programs, students in these classes are not eligible for tuition assistance.
- The primary responsibility for financing a student’s education rests with the family.
- In the case of divorce or separation, WCS requires both parents to file an application for tuition assistance. WCS is not bound by any divorce agreement specifying a parent’s responsibility for educational expenses.
- WCS believes a family should invest in their child’s education before elective expenses, such as secondary home ownership, club memberships, and luxury car leases/purchases.
- Maximum award under the Tuition Assistance Program is 50% of a family's tuition.
Process
Wilmington Christian School uses an online system called Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST), powered by Independent School Management (ISM), to evaluate an applicant family’s need for financial assistance.
- Click on the FAST link below. It will take you to the online tuition assistance application. You will need to complete the entire application form and pay the $53 fee to FAST for your application to be processed by ISM. There are instructions on the FAST application site which list the information you will need. The application should take approximately 30-60 minutes to complete.
- Preliminary awards will be determined by re-commitment time for current school families, and beginning in March for new families.
- You must provide all tax returns and forms requested by FAST for the 2023 year for your application to be considered by WCS.
- All 2024/25 preliminary awards are contingent upon FAST receiving your 2023 tax documentation, and that documentation supporting the information submitted on the application. (WCS reserves the right to withdraw or change any award based on insufficient documentation.)
You can upload your tax information directly into your application. If you are filling out the FAST form prior to the completion of your 2023 tax forms, you may upload them at a later date.
