After thirteen years of K-12 education, your child will have spent over 16,000 hours in school!
The environment in which your child spends those critically important and formative hours will likely influence them for their entire lives.
At WCS, Christian faith, community, and friendship are put into practice to help guide students into Christian maturity. WCS has a long and well-known history of influencing generations of students to go on to serve Christ effectively in diverse vocations. The WCS difference is that every school activity, whether academic, athletic, art, or social, is guided by caring Christian mentors with a biblical view of life and learning. When you’d like to find out more about how WCS could be the right 16,000-hour decision for your family, we’d love to arrange for you to talk with a current school family or perhaps visit the WCS campus in Hockessin. We’d welcome the chance to meet you! |
Reasons to Choose WCS
College (and Life!) Preparatory Education
Beyond merely providing a challenging academic curriculum, WCS intentionally trains students how to live well. Our graduates consistently report being well-prepared for life beyond high school, not only for successful undergraduate work but for the spiritual and social challenges they face as emerging adults. The Right Community Standards Our joy in life and love of learning stem from the knowledge that we are made in the image of a holy God and that He has finely tuned us and all His creation for our benefit and His glory. WCS adheres to a traditional, Biblical view of conduct in our relationships with God, ourselves, and each other, which is embodied in the WCS Standard of Community Life, to which we all willingly adhere. Reaching Beyond Knowledge to Wisdom For many, life’s biggest and most important questions are also the most difficult to answer. How did life come to be? Does my life have any real purpose? What is the relationship between faith and reason? Is there life after death? At WCS, asking such questions is a key part of the learning process as is acquiring the skills and resources to defend one’s answers with grace and truth. At WCS, we develop students to confidently move beyond knowledge to wisdom, which begins with the fear of the Lord. |
Multiple Co-Curricular Options
WCS provides an abundance of options for co-curricular activities. Because of the breadth of offerings for a school of our size, many WCS students find that they are able to participate in multiple co-curricular programs, not just one or two. This broad participation allows students to discover where their individual gifts can flourish. Parent Involvement Opportunities Parents are able to have a significant voice in guiding our school’s direction. There are opportunities for parents to participate in a wide range of school activities, including: PTF, chaperoning trips, school play costumes, ticket sales, concession stands, volunteering in classes, etc. Parents are welcome here! |
