On March 30th, 12 Wilmington Christian School students and four chaperones took off for a 20+ hour plane ride to Nairobi, Kenya, for a 10-day missions trip. We partnered with Happy Life Mission which has provided food, shelter, healthcare, and education for over 400 abandoned children, from newborns through 12th graders, for the past 20 years.
At Happy Life, we taught Bible and art classes, played games with the kids, helped them with homework, assisted the house mothers with many chores, and developed relationships that will last in our hearts forever. Each one of us was brought so far out of our comfort zone, that we had to fully rely on God to lead us through each day and put our faith above our fears. The Kenyan people taught us how to appreciate all the Lord truly has blessed us with. The children at Happy Life showed us how to have pure joy despite the odds being against them, and the staff taught us how to work for the Lord with a happy heart and a smile on our faces, no matter how hot or tired we were. Thank you for your financial and prayer support for this trip. To find out more about the Happy Life Mission, you can visit their website HERE. Comments are closed.
